Hi! I'm Jasmine Bolling-Brown, the 6th grade science teacher at Golda Meir School. This page is your place to find out a little more about me.
I am from Chicago, IL but I have been living in Milwaukee since 2007. I graduated from Marquette University in 2011. In college, I studied Elementary Education and Sociology and have a B.A. in both areas.I student taught at Golda and began working here in early 2012 and I've loved every minute of it.
FAQ (From Students):
Why did you become a teacher? I have always LOVED school and I knew that if I could get paid for going everyday, I definitely would. I have come to realize that teaching is a true passion of mine and I think I am pretty good at it (I hope all of you agree). BUT, if I wasn't a teacher, I would want to have a TV cooking show like Rachel Ray. :-)
What do you do for fun? When I am not at school, I like to cook, read, go to Milwaukee Bucks basketball games, shop, play board games, and try new restaurants.
What about your family? My parents live in Chicago along with a lot of aunts, uncles, cousins, and my maternal grandparents. My paternal grandmother lives in Los Angeles. I have a younger sister and a younger brother. They both live in Nashville, TN where they attended college. My sister graduated from Tennessee State University and my brother graduated from Fisk University. My husband is absolutely amazing and you might know him! I'm married to Coach Danny who was the Playworks Coach at Golda (and a bunch of other schools). Coach Danny and I have the world's coolest dog, Simba.
FAQ (From Parents):
What is the best way to get in touch with you? If it is not an emergency, the best way to contact me is via email. My email address is [email protected]. I check my email every weekday and will try to get back to you within 48 hours. Please understand that I may not have an opportunity to check my email during the school day so if there is information I need to know for that day (such as where to send a student after school), please send a note with your child or call the school office. In an emergency, always call the school office first.
How can I keep up with my child's progress in your classes? Register for an Infinite Campus Account. I will update weekly with info about student progress.
